Soft King Size Sherpa Blanket in Taupe Review

I bought this blanket expecting the texture to be different than it is. Although it does say it's sherpa, the picture is somewhat deceiving showing a shorter nap than typical sherpa so I thought I would try it. I'm not really sure if I like this blanket or of the quality yet. This is a generously sized blanket that is extremely light and fluffy. I was shocked by the appearance when I first opened the package. It looks like a dirty sheep skin. Solely based on the picture displayed, I was expecting something with more of a micro plush fleece look and texture, however the description does state it is sherpa. It's not so much soft as it is fluffy, I definitely have bought softer blankets than this so I would not say it's super soft but I would say it's super light and fluffy. I have not washed it yet to see how it holds up with pilling but I can say that when I shook it out to put on my bed that tufts of fur started flying off the under side of the blanket. Since the initial first shake it has not shed much more, I have not noticed any fur balls stuck to my clothes upon awakening or on the rest of my bedding. I will update my review after washing it. It is thick and very warm considering it has almost no weight to it, to the point you barely feel your covered up with it. My husband loves it and it is starting to grow on me. I was just just looking for something as soft as those really plush baby blankets which this is not that soft so I will continue my search and use this fluffy blanket till I find what I really want.
