I have a back and spine problem and have assorted pillows of every shape and size. I have looked long and hard for one that would help me to sleep in the best possible position. This is the best one available and I have been comfortable sleeping for the first time in a long time. It does not leave your legs hanging out, but supports them naturally so that they return to the bed in a good position.
Good Points: This has memory foam (about one inch?), but is not as heavy and dense as one with all memory foam. I use a heated mattress pad (also a wonderful item for a bad back) and heavy pillows make "hot spots" underneath them. I was afraid that the pad would burn out. This pillow is light enough not to create any problems. It is easier to carry. NOTE: I was about to give away the first one I ordered as size is fairly critical to being comfortable; it ended up in my guest room where several guests have happily used it. I am 5'1" and the xsmall is perfect. The cover zips off and is hand washable. It is also comfy for reading in bed or watching t.v. I do not have the big pillow behind my back which may be the next thing I try.
What could be improved or that you should consider: This is not flame retardant; you need to be careful around open flame. When you sleep on this, you cannot easily turn over. If, like me, you mostly sleep on your back, this is for you. If you wish to get in an hour in a different position to stretch your spine, get the long four position pillow and swap it out when you need to change positions. I do wish that they made cases for this in sheeting material as well, because the foam is not quite as nice as sheet against your skin. I cover mine with a regular pillow case.
