I love this duvet cover, but agree that for the money it should at least come with pillow shams.

The texture of the fabric is high quality and I've found that it goes well with slate gray sheets if you don't want to get the white sheets from the set.

The coloring in the picture makes the paisley look a little purple, but in real life it is a black floral design on white background. the back of the duvet cover is solid white.
