I purchased this cover from Amazon after realizing that every time we switched out our synthetic comforter in the summer for our down comforter in the winter, I woke up with a badly swollen face and eyes. A visit to an allergist confirmed as allergy to dust mites. This cover is soft like it promises. There's NO crinkly sounds at all. It feels just like super tightly woven cotton. The true test of it's worth is that it's been three months now, and no swollen face and eyes in the morning. I also purchased their pillow covers. If they make a mattress cover, I'm in for that next. :) Oh, PS: I'm thinking that heeding the manufacturers instructions on not washing these often is good advice. I would think that would loosen the weave. I'm using them under another duvet cover, and under pillowcases.
